Welcome to Kalama.info
Located conveniently on Interstate 5, Kalama is a great location to spend an afternoon shopping at the many antique stores or picnicking along the Columbia River. The Kalama River is one of Washington’s premier steelhead and salmon fishing rivers.   Kalama’s friendly people welcome you to our home town. Kalama is a community of 2000 residents nestled in foothills of Southwest Washington.  Kalama is 30 miles north of Portland, OR.  Mount Saint Helens steams and rumbles just 25 miles east of town. Historic Buildings date from the turn of the 19th century when the railroad terminus was located in Kalama.  Many of the original homes and buildings remain in excellent condition.  A walking tour of homes can be enjoyed in an afternoon. Scenic views of the Columbia River from our public recreational area allow visitors to see ocean-going ships pass just yards off shore. Kalama offers a number of family events each year.  See our community calendar for more information.
